Terms and Conditons

Welcome to RPA Skills Ltd. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, services, and participation in any drone training courses or related services we provide throughout New Zealand. By booking or engaging with our services, you agree to the following terms.

1. Cancellation and Payment Policy

As a small business operating nationwide, we incur costs when bookings are cancelled at short notice, when participants do not attend, or when payment terms are not met. This policy ensures fairness and clarity for both parties.

Client Cancellation & Payment Terms

By booking a course or service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Cancellation Period & Charges

  • No Show – No refund

  • Within 48 Hours – Transfer of course to a different date

  • Within 7 Days – 50% Refund given

  • More than 7 Days’ Notice – No charge

 

Exceptional Circumstances

In cases beyond reasonable control (including but not limited to natural disasters, bereavement, or illness):

  • Your booking may be transferred to the next available course date, or

  • A full refund will be provided where rescheduling is not possible

 

Payment Terms

  • All invoices must be paid in full within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. A certificate of completion of our course will not be issued unless the invoice has been settled.

  • Any outstanding payments after 90 days may be referred to a debt collection agency

  • Any associated recovery costs will be passed on to the client

 

Refunds

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days

  • Refunds will be issued using the original payment method where possible

 

2. Provider Cancellation

In the unlikely event that RPA Skills must cancel or reschedule a course or service:

  • You will be notified as soon as possible

  • You will be offered:

    • A full refund, or

    • Transfer to the next available course date

Any refunds will be processed within 14 days, or unpaid invoices will be voided.

3. Course Participation Requirements

Participants must:

  • Be physically and mentally capable of safely operating a drone

  • Follow all instructions given by instructors at all times

  • Comply with all applicable New Zealand aviation regulations, including those set by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)

Failure to comply may result in removal from the course without refund.

 

4. Safety and Compliance

 

All training is conducted in accordance with New Zealand aviation laws and best practices.

Participants agree to:

  • Operate drones safely and responsibly

  • Follow all CAA Part 101 and/or Part 102 rules where applicable

  • Not operate drones under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Respect privacy, property, and airspace restrictions

 

5. Liability and Risk

Drone operation involves inherent risks. By participating in our training:

  • You acknowledge and accept these risks

  • You agree that RPA Skills is not liable for:

    • Personal injury (except where required by law)

    • Loss or damage to personal property

    • Indirect or consequential losses

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, our liability is limited to the value of the service provided.

 

6. Equipment Use

 

Where equipment is provided:

  • You are responsible for using it correctly and safely

  • Any damage caused by negligence or misuse may be charged to you

  • You must follow all handling and safety instructions

 

7. Intellectual Property

 

All course materials, content, and resources provided remain the property of RPA Skills Ltd. unless otherwise stated.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute materials without written permission

  • Use materials for commercial purposes without consent

 

8. Privacy

 

We collect and store personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

Your information will only be used for:

  • Course administration

  • Communication

  • Legal and compliance purposes

We will not share your information with third parties without consent unless required by law.

 

9. Weather Conditions

Drone training is weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe:

  • Training may be rescheduled at no additional cost

  • No refunds will be issued solely due to weather delays, unless rescheduling is not possible

 

10. Practical Flight Test & Certification

Upon completion of the course, participants are required to undertake a practical flight test as part of the certification process.

  • The flight test is assessed on a pass or fail basis.

  • Where a participant successfully passes, the cost of the flight test is included within the course fee of $600 + GST.

  • Where a participant does not meet the required standard, a re-sit fee of $150 + GST will apply. This fee covers the cost of an assessor conducting a subsequent flight test.

 

Timeframe for Completion

  • Participants are required to complete the practical flight test within 3 months of attending the course.

  • Extensions of up to 6 months may be granted on a case-by-case basis, for example due to injury or other exceptional circumstances.

 

Failure to Complete

  • If the practical flight test is not completed within the required timeframe (and no extension has been approved), the participant will be required to re-enrol in and complete the full course again at the standard course fee before being eligible to sit the flight test.

 

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
